Litchfield National Park is 75 miles south of Darwin. The park has monsoonal forests, waterfalls, rocky sandstone escarpments, swimming holes (billabongs), Magnetic and Cathedral termite mounds and prehistoric plants called cycads. It’s a great place to go for a day trip.
Florence Falls
Above and right: Buley Rockpool. This is a series of waterfalls and rockholes. It’s a great place to cool down.
Some of the amazing things to see in the Northern Territory are the Cathedral (left) & Magnetic mounds (above) made from termite poop and saliva. Those termites are very, very busy! Recycling at its finest!
