The Whitsundays are 74 islands off the coast of Queensland in the Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour area, and the islands are all accessible to the Great Barrier Reef. The islands are fairly close together and this is Australia’s premier sailing territory. Two-thirds of the region is national park and there are 10 island resorts plus the resort area of Airlie Beach. The Whitsundays have sheltered turquoise waters and pristine beauty, and since they are on the same latitude as Rio de Janeiro and Tahiti, they enjoy tropical climate year round. ONE & ONLY HAYMAN ISLAND is considered the most luxurious resort in Australia. It is the closest island in the Whitsundays to the Great Barrier Reef. Complimentary are tennis, squash, non-motorized watersports, putting green, billiards room, table tennis, card and games room, and an outdoor jacuzzi. It also has a Kids’ Club, a 5-star Padi dive centre, and Spa Hayman Chakra. It is consistently voted one of the top resorts in the world and the best in Australia.


	HAMILTON ISLAND is the largest island in the Whitsundays. It has 800 rooms which range from 5 to 3-stars and includes apartments and villas. The island has 10 restaurants, 7 swimming pools, and over 40 activities. It’s a great family destination and is the most developed island in the Whitsundays.

DAYDREAM ISLAND RESORT & SPA has 296 rooms and caters to families. A 4 1/2 star resort, it has the largest fringing coral reef in the Whitsundays. It has an open-air cinema, outdoor open aquarium, 3 swimming pools, 3 restaurants, gym, sauna, tennis courts, Kids’ Club, motorized and non-motorized watersports. The Daydream Rejuvenation Spa has 16 treatment rooms.

PEPPERS PALM BAY has 21 cabins, bures and bungalows. It has a saltwater pool, heated spa and a day spa. It is a small, boutique resort catering to couples.

BRAMPTON ISLAND is located at the southern entrance to the Whitsunday Passage and is ringed by seven white, sandy, semi-secluded beaches and its own coral reef. The resort is 25 miles offshore and accessible from Mackay. Almost entirely a national park, the resort has only 106 rooms and does not cater to day trippers. The resort is inclusive of meals and most activities.
