One of our favorite companies for an outstanding safari tour is Inner Island Safari. They use 4 x 4’s to show you around Moorea and take you into the interior of the island. Below are some photos of their wonderful “Visit of the Crater” tour. Over a road that is barely passeable, they take you high up on the volcano where you have a spectacular view of Opunohu & Cooks Bay, the north coast, the beautiful lagoons and the reefs. You will also visit an agricultural school, visit the Belvedere which overlooks both bays, visit a marae (a Tahitian archaelogical site), a pineapple plantation and vanilla groves and then you end up at the only distillerie on Moorea where you will have a chance to sample their fruit liquors.
