Any travel agent can issue a ticket or book a cruise . . . We create Travel Experiences . . . that extra effort is our hallmark!
One of the highlights of the tour is spending an evening at Tiki Village. The polynesian village was created by Olivier Briac 13 years ago
and is an actual village where over 60 dancers, craftspeoples and firedancers actually live and work. You are welcomed to their village with the strumming of ukeleles and you are shown
how to dance the tamure and open a coconut, then you are shown the dinner that is prepared in the village's underground Tahitian oven and then you are given a tour of the village and you visit the booths of the
various crafts people. Then you feast on a wonderful Tahitian dinner and are shown how pareos are tied and then afterwards you are transfixed by some of the best polynesian dancers and fire dancers
on the island. Just click on the Dance Show button above to see the show. After the show is over with, the dancers love to have to their pictures taken with the audience as you will see
when you click on the Dancer Photos button above.
Our welcoming at Tiki Village.
Showing us how to dance the tamure. Didi put us all to shame!
Then we were taken to where they were opening up the underground oven which was to be our dinner for the night.
After the opening of the underground oven, we were then taken on a tour of the village. Here is our tour guide in the Gauguin's "Maison du
Jouir" art gallery.
Then it was onto dinner where we feasted on cooked fish, beef, lamb chops, pork, breadfruit, spinach and all sorts of polynesian foods.
Checking out the pearls at the pearl shop at Tiki Village. They also have a pearl farm.
Pat and Lisa were really fascinated at the many ways to tie a pareo.
While we were eating we were serenaded by ukeleles and shown how to tie pareos for both the women and the men.
Pam rewarded the Tahitian who showed us how men tie their pareos with a dollar bill! He loved it!
