Vaitape is the principal village of the island and is the heart of Bora Bora.  The shopping area is called "Pahia".  Numerous local artisans display traditional objects and souvenirs at the Centre Artisanal de Bora Bora which is next to the office of the Comite du Tourisme.  Below are some scenes from Vaitape.
