	Didi begins her tour by giving a lecture on Tahiti and the tifaifai. She tells about her family coming to Tahiti and brings with her tifaifais done by herself and by her mother Roxanne. When they lived in Tahiti, they were taught how to do the tifaifai by Didi's nanny. Her lecture is a wonderful introduction to Tahiti, the tifaifai and the days that lay ahead for the participants of the tour.




		Didi's father worked for Chevron and he was sent to Tahiti where he was in charge of fuel allocations during the time that the Faa'a airport was built. This tifaifai commemorates why they came to Tahiti.


	"The Fern". This tifaifai was designed by Roxanne McElroy and was draped around Didi and Heinui at their Tahitian wedding in 2005.

"Jewel's Paradise" . This is a tifaifai designed by Roxanne McElroy and the winner of the 1992 International Friendship Award.

			"Les Mermaids". This tahitian tifaifai is based on a pattern that makes four sections which you can see clearly in this tifaifai.

	"Mermaids in the Surf". The circles surrounding the mermaids are indications of the family's Japanese heritage.
