Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author of Anne of Green Gables, was born on the north shore of Prince Edward Island in Canada and was raised in Cavendish, where she lived until
she married at the age of 36. Anne of Green Gables has been translated into 15 different languages and put on film. The books were inspired by the island herself - the land, the sea and the people. Two of our clients, Laurie and Ann, are avid Anne fans and they made a pilgrimage to Prince Edward Island and visited many of the sites featured in the Anne books.
