SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA
Heading north-west from Reykjavik in the North Atlantic Ocean you come to Snaefellsjokull National Park on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.  Due to its diversity of landscapes, the Snaefellsnes Peninsula is often called “Iceland in Minature”.  You drive through beautiful scenery, lava fields, black sand beaches and impressive glaciers.   You will have a stunning view of Snaefellsjokull Glacier and rock pinnacles.   You can also visit the Shark Museum in Bjarnarhofn.  

These basalt rock formations  are formed when lava erupts as liquid magma and hits the cold air and hardens into these geometric shapes.
